IABC @ UGA is a student chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators. We are affiliated with the IABC/Atlanta professional chapter. Our focus is to connect students at UGA with professionals working in fields relating to business communications. Students of all majors are welcome to attend meetings, become members, and will undoubtedly benefit from involvement with our chapter.

IABC MEETING: Brand Yourself For The Career Stage Featuring Coca Cola

Join IABC and Coca Cola next week for a discussion on personal branding for the professional world.

When & Where? TUESDAY, March 17, 6 p.m. in Rm 275 of the Miller Learning Center

Learn how to brand yourself for the career stage from Global Asset Protection Manager Chip Bush and get a chance to network with a Coca Cola Executive! This meeting is open to non-IABC members, so come check out the organization and learn about potential leadership opportunities for current students! Chip Bush has been at The Coca Cola Company for more than 25 years and has held various roles from Communications Specialist to Manager of Global Asset Protection. Bush is also heavily involved in IABC Atlanta where he has been the Director of Communications and is now Director of Finance. Bush’s diverse portfolio makes him an invaluable connection for Student IABC members looking to work in a corporate environment!

Follow-ups Workshop

UGA IABC’s next meeting will be this Wednesday @ 6PM in Rm 148 of Tate!

UGA Ad Club and PRSSA are putting on their networking event, ADPR Connection, tomorrow and we will be providing students with a workshop on how to follow up with professionals after the event. We will discuss cold calling, informational interviews, and follow up emails.

Don’t miss this chance to let UGA IABC help you feel a little less overwhelmed, learn how to respond, and get that job interview!

September 10th KickOff Meeting!

It’s that time of year again- IABC is looking for new members to join the ranks…

And that means YOU!

We are officially having our first meeting of the year this WEDNESDAY at 6PM in MLC Rm 480. Come on out for free pizza, an iTunes Gift-card giveaway, and an overview of some of the awesome things we have planned for this semester! Don’t miss this opportunity to get involved. All majors are welcome so feel free to bring a friend!
